Used-car & EV inspections

A clean test drive does not tell the whole story. A professional inspection can give you evidence about the vehicle’s current condition before you make a major purchase.

For vehicles from any seller

An inspection should answer better questions.

What is happening now? What appears safe and serviceable? What needs attention soon? Is there a warning light, leak, noise, or drivability concern that deserves more testing?

All American can inspect many used vehicles you are considering in or around Longmont. Because inspection scope varies by vehicle, powertrain, condition, and concern, call before arranging the seller’s drop-off.

Call About an Inspection

Different vehicles need different attention

Choose the inspection that fits the vehicle.

These are the main inspection paths. Our team will confirm the exact scope before the vehicle is checked in.

01

Pre-Purchase Inspection

A broad review for a typical gas-powered used vehicle before you buy.

  • Road test and basic drivability evaluation
  • Full vehicle module scan when supported
  • Engine, transmission, fluids, and visible leaks
  • Brakes, tires, steering, suspension, and undercarriage
  • HVAC, lighting, windows, mirrors, and safety equipment
02

Concern-Focused Testing

Additional diagnostic time may be appropriate when the vehicle already has a symptom or warning.

  • Warning lights or stored fault codes
  • Noise, vibration, shifting, starting, or performance concerns
  • Evidence of previous repair or modification
  • Systems that need testing beyond a visual inspection

This is not automatically included in every pre-purchase inspection. We will discuss the concern and testing time with you first.

EV

Hybrid & EV Inspection

Electrified vehicles need a different approach than a conventional car.

  • EV or hybrid system scan when supported
  • High-voltage system warning and condition checks
  • Battery and charging-system review
  • Thermal-management and supporting-system inspection
  • Mechanical, safety, tire, brake, and road-test evaluation

Capability and battery-data access vary by make and model. Confirm the specific vehicle with our team before scheduling.

Before the seller hands over the keys

Plan the inspection first.

  1. 1

    Call the shop

Tell us the year, make, model, powertrain, mileage, seller location, and anything you already know about the vehicle.

  2. 2

    Confirm the scope

We will tell you which inspection path fits and whether the vehicle needs additional diagnostic time.

  3. 3

    Coordinate the drop-off

Make sure the seller agrees to leave the vehicle long enough for a proper inspection and road test.

  4. 4

    Review the findings

Use the information to ask better questions, negotiate, plan future work, or walk away.
